Dr. Oviedo received a Bachelor’s degree in General Biology with a minor in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego in 2006 and a degree in Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco in 2009. He practiced dentistry in the United States Navy where he treated approximately 3,000 patients and was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal as well as the Afghanistan Campaign Medal. After serving our country, he received a master’s degree in Craniofacial Biology and a Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Southern California (USC). Dr. Oviedo worked for several years then took over the third-generation orthodontic practice formerly operated by Dr. Jetson Lee in the heart of San Francisco’s Richmond District. He is an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Pacific School of Dentistry.
Dr. Oviedo comes from a lineage of San Franciscans and will be the fifth successive generation of his family to call San Francisco “home”. He is also a second-generation orthodontist, as his late father practiced in the Sacramento area for nearly 40 years. Dr. Oviedo belongs to numerous professional organizations and is board-certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. In his free time, Dr. Oviedo enjoys traveling, reading, sports, art projects, and spending time with family and friends.
